The black thing could be a gel sac, where the leg was injured and it is healing it before a molt. It could also be what they call Shell Rot Disease.

To treat that, need to get some Melafix and mix it according to the directions. Give the hermie a bath in regular water and then use a Q tip to put some of that on the bad spot and then also some antibiotic ointment. Repeat the Melafix and ointment treatment twice a day and that seems to help cure it.
