Yes you can just move the other one out.
All hermies are different and they may molt above ground sometimes then decide to do it under the sand. I am never able to pick out pre molt symptoms with most of mine. When I had jumbos, I knew they were going to molt when they sat in one spot in the tank for a week, LOL.

Personally I rarely isolate my hermies for molting. I have not had any problems so far. But I do recommend isolation to others. Better safe than sorry.
