some times because you handle to much they will get shy to get in ther shell so they get out. Or becauce ther air is not moist so you sould hold them for 5 minutes then put them back then 2 weeks later hold them for another 5 min.then do that for the rest of ther lives.To keep ther air moist take a spray bottle and spray sping water in ther tanks 3times a day.
