Hermit Crab Care

elevation - kathleen - 7/3/2004
Hi Sarah,

I have been keeping crabs for 8 months. We have about 37 crabs now. PPs , Es , Indos , Rugs , and Cavis all living together. We live just south of Chicago at an elevation of 767 feet.

We have had no real streaking. Just the occasional naked molt.

There is some pushing and fighting over shells or favorite spots, but only 2 deaths. One molting ruggie was killed by another pre molt ruggie, for the shell.
Another Rug was killed by a pushy E, again for the shell. In the second situation there was no molt.

I hope this is all the info you need. See ya in Research!
